The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) performs a critical role, providing access to criminal records information through its disclosure service in England and Wales and making independent barring decisions to protect children and vulnerable people in the workplace. Our mission is to put safeguarding at the heart of everything we do, providing a faster, simpler and more accessible service which exceeds customer expectations.

Leading and inspiring a workforce of 1,000 people, this is a high profile and challenging role at an exciting time for the DBS. We have achieved a lot in the last 6 years but there is more to do. Working closely with the Chair, board and key stakeholders, including the Home Office, you will need to deliver a high performing, fully functioning organisation through a period of complex change and transition, creating a lasting culture reflective of our values.

You will be an inspirational leader with a proven track record of driving high performance and quality of service. You will bring the energy, commitment and confidence to raise our profile externally and harness the dedication and passion of our staff, executive team and board to ensure outstanding performance.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious and talented leader. For an informal, confidential discussion, please contact our advising consultants Emma Law on or Mark Turner on  at GatenbySanderson.
